That's really frikkin' hot. It's been in the high 80's and low 90's here in Florida, which is still too hot for me. Actually, I just looked at a local site and it's 77 degrees (though it's not even ten in the morning).

@arjw The drive had a mechanical failure. It literally ate itself, and then fell off a table of its own accord. Surprisingly we were still able to recover data from it. We're wiping the hard drive after we're done recovering the data and sending it back to the manufacturer.

@ KevanV Thank you. I'm honestly surprised I didn't think of spinrite--I listen to Security Now every week. Oh well--we got a file recovery system and managed to recover everything.
